MRL
Manufacturing Readiness Level
What it actually means
A 1–10 scale rating the maturity of the manufacturing capability for a technology or product — materials availability, process maturity, supply chain, cost modeling — parallel to how TRLs rate the technology itself. A component can be TRL 7 and MRL 4: it works, but nobody can build it at rate or price. That gap is where production programs get hurt.
Where you'll meet it
